Adult Bible Study
Pastor's Bible Class
The Pastor's Bible Class combines his teaching ability from the business world, his time teaching business college classes and his love for the Scriptures to challenge each man and woman to be Christians of faith. This class is open to couples and singles alike desiring to learn more about the Bible. From GOD's Word the adults receive a variety of opportunities for worship, Bible study, personal and spiritual growth, recreation, and fellowship.
Homemakers
Our newest class is taught by Brother Russell Wood and his wife Sister Shanna. These couples usually with school age children represent the future of our church. The purpose of this class is to strengthen couples by teaching them to manage their homes on Biblical principles and morals. Working close to his Pastor Brother Russell follows the model "Making homes built buy the book"! They use the word of God to help couples with the problems that we all face on a day to day basis and learn that couples should not only turn to God but also to each other for support. Come and grow together with us and let's build our homes on the ROCK.
At the heart of the adult ministry is the desire to help individuals build a strong, rewarding relationship with their Saviour, each other and the entire church family. It is a place where one can come and find a whole new group of caring friends as well as God's love.
Youth
Our Youth are taught by Brother Chris Mattox and his wife Brandi. Brother Chris is a Prison Guard with a passion to see young people make something of their lives. Brandi, is Mom to two girls and shares her husband's passion. Together they introduce our young people to the clear commandments of God's Word. The Bible says in 2nd Timothy 2:2, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
The purpose of the local church youth ministry is to help equip families with the necessary tools from God's Word to lay the right foundation for the rest of life. It is not our task to take the place of parents, but rather to keep our young people active in GOD's Word, in GOD's Work and in GOD's Way while separated from home and family. We must work to help entire families serve the Lord together. The essential for the youth director is to walk with God and work with parents.
Nursery
Nothing serves as so precious a reminder of God's blessing to us as the birth of a child. Every newborn baby should have the joy and privilege of being brought into a truly Christian home. Second to that in a Church Home the child should be cared for as if it were our own. Mrs. Pat Smith, the Pastor's wife supervises and works in the Nursery during Sunday School. It is the responsibility of the local church nursery and preschool ministry to provide all the help possible to parents as they seek to serve the Lord, bring their children to church and teach their children to know God. With all the attention given to the physical facilities of the nursery and preschool, let us never forget the vital importance of the Christian Family.
Preschool
At this age, children are preparing for 'real school' and they are learning rapidly each day. Having taught their own children in this age group, our teachers concentrate on the individual child's needs. The focus with this age group prepares the child to learn how to sit, listen and learn coupled with fun time directed to their age group.
Elementary
Brother Keith Bates is the teacher of the Elementary class. Children are a gift from God. They are given to parents and it is the responsibility of parents to give their children back to God. Giving a child to God involves first the surrender of the parents' will to the will of God. Assistant Pastor Keith Bates teaches and supervises this age group.
Intermediate
Mrs. Cristina Bates is the teacher and supervisor for this age and often joins her husband in developing 'outside' church activities to promote their combined teaching of our children. Preparing the child for the life of a preteen and beyond is a formidable task. With a child of her own Mrs. Bates focuses on teaching them lessons that pertain to their lives.
